Frederiksted, St. Croix – Dec. 12, 2025 – Our Town Frederiksted, Inc. (OTF), a community advocacy organization, is proud to welcome Ayanda Daniels and Leon Perkins to the Board of Trustees. Daniels and Perkins were elected by their peers to continue advancing Our Town Frederiksted’s mission of revitalizing the downtown community, people and infrastructure through effective leadership.
Ayanda Daniels is a Frederiksted native with deep generational ties of family and service to the community. She is a Human Resources professional, and is credentialed by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (SPHR). Her career experience spans government, corporate, community and nonprofit sectors. Ms. Daniels will lead the Community Outreach committee.
Leon Perkins is a Frederiksted native and entrepreneur. He is a full time Senior Logistics Non Commissioned Officer for the Virgin Islands National Guard, and the owner of Value, a financial services company. Mr. Perkins is an advocate for financial literacy, and has authored the book “Value Your Future, A Young Investor’s Story.” Perkins will chair the Public Safety committee.
Shomari Moorehead, President of Our Town Frederiksted, says Daniels and Perkins bring diverse expertise and perspectives to the Board. “We are excited to work with them in this capacity and look forward to them continuing to drive innovation and strategic progress here at OTF. We are poised to kick off critical projects that would immediately impact Frederiksted by creating housing and retail spaces in downtown Frederiksted, through the Housing Ecosystem Grant and the Community Development Block Grant. Ayanda’s and Leon’s collective personal and professional experiences will serve us all well in moving these projects and the organization forward.”
Moorehead thanked former board members Aesha Duval and Meridith Nielsen for their service to the organization and to the Frederiksted community.
