Frederiksted, St. Croix – Our Town Frederiksted, Inc. (OTF) kicked off its Rhythms at Sunset music series last night, drawing a vibrant crowd to Verne I. Richards Veterans Memorial Park. This inaugural event featured live performances by Kevin Williams, Jr., The Troublemakers, Tony Richards & Friends, and spoken word artists Kaden and Dese, creating an unforgettable evening of culture, music, and community spirit.
The event, which will take place every third Friday of the month, aims to bring people together in the heart of Frederiksted while highlighting local talent and offering a space for food, fun, and fellowship. Attendees enjoyed a variety of vendors selling food, drinks, and handcrafted goods from local artisans. The stunning Frederiksted sunset provided the perfect backdrop for a night celebrating the arts and culture of the Virgin Islands.
“We are thrilled with the turnout and the energy at the launch of Rhythms at Sunset,” said Aimée Griles-Cariño, Executive Director of Our Town Frederiksted. “It’s incredible to see the community come together in this way, and we look forward to continuing this series to support the cultural and economic growth of Frederiksted.”
In addition to the music, food, and artisanal crafts, attendees had access to a bar that accepted both cash and tap-to-pay options, making the event accessible for everyone. The bar and other vendors will continue to be a feature at upcoming events, ensuring a wide range of offerings for all attendees.
OTF would like to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, and community members who made this event possible. We are grateful for the ongoing support and enthusiasm for this series, which we hope will become a cornerstone of Frederiksted’s cultural calendar.
The next Rhythms at Sunset event will be held on Friday, November 15th, 2024. Mark your calendars for another evening of music, food, crafts, and fun. Stay tuned to Our Town Frederiksted’s social media channels for more updates.
